Rafael Gomes is a young Brazilian chef with metropolitan accents, master of an inventive cuisine with South American influences. Sitting at Rafael’s table is experiencing a gastronomic voyage nourished with sun, fresh herbs, spices, ingredients and condiments coming from everywhere.
Even if he put on his first cook jacket in the United States (Gramercy Tavern * and Eleven Madison Park ***) and enriched his journey with international experiences (Alaska, Asia, Latin America, Europe), his career in France began at Mirazur, Mauro Colagreco’s restaurant (voted 3rd best restaurant in the world by the "50 best" ranking) located in Menton. After two years, thanks to his immense passion for products and his perfectionism, the Argentine chef entrusted him with the kitchen of his Parisian establishment, GrandCoeur. During his almost three years there, Rafael found his style and won Parisian’s hearts.
Rafael opened his first restaurant in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, where he offers local and seasonal food, putting fresh products in the spotlight. His creations, especially Mediterranean, also reflect his identity forged by his itinerant lifestyle (Brazil, New York, France, etc...). At Itacoa, he proposes, along with his team an accessible cuisine full of flavors.
His cuisine is generous and refined and his gastronomic values - the respect of the seasons, the quality of the products, the small producers and the importance of taste - create fresh flavors and make his dishes alive, always with exotic influences and great technical mastery.
With his many experiences abroad, Rafael has built a good reputation that gives him the opportunity to always work on different international events. In between China, Brazil, US, London and many other upcoming destinations, Rafael became a cosmopolitan chef.
